FAQ

›Can I connect a TV directly?
Yes, via HDMI ARC: a compatible TV feeds the amplifier directly, no soundbar or AV receiver needed. Whether TV-remote volume control (CEC) works is not stated — ask a specialist.
›Is there a built-in phono stage?
Yes, an MM phono input: a turntable with an MM cartridge connects directly. MC cartridges need an external stage.
›How much power, and which speakers will it drive?
2 × 50 W into 8 Ω and 2 × 65 W into 4 Ω (class AB). By rule §4.9.17, 100 dB peaks at 3 m need speakers of 89.6 dB/W or more; in a room up to 20–25 m² with 86–90 dB bookshelves at moderate volume it is enough. The current reserve for hard loads is moderate.
›Can I listen through Bluetooth headphones?
Yes: Bluetooth works both ways — receiving aptX / aptX HD / aptX Adaptive from a phone and transmitting to compatible Bluetooth headphones.
›How do I connect a subwoofer?
To the dedicated active-subwoofer output (low level). There is also a pre-out for an external power amplifier.
›Are there tone controls and a direct mode?
Yes — bass/treble and balance controls plus a Source Direct mode that routes the signal past them.
›How does it differ from the Marantz PM6007?
Per the Mir Hi-Fi blog, the MODEL 70 replaces the PM6007 as Marantz's entry point: it adds HDMI ARC, two-way aptX Adaptive Bluetooth and the new-line design (round display, matches the CD 70). No sound comparison yet. AI draft, under review
›Is there network streaming (Spotify, Yandex Music)?
No: there is no network module or USB input. Stream from a phone over Bluetooth or via an external streamer on the optical/coax input.
›Can I connect a centre channel?
No: a stereo amplifier drives two channels; multichannel cinema needs an AV receiver.
